Man City squad members celebrate Premier League title win together after watching Arsenal defeat

The Manchester City players celebrated their Premier League title triumph together on Saturday evening after watching Arsenal lose at Nottingham Forest.

Mikel Arteta's side were beaten 1-0 at the City Ground thanks to a goal from Taiwo Awoniyi inside nine minutes. The Gunners were unable to break down a resolute Forest, falling to a second consecutive defeat which leaves them four points off City with just a game left to play.

That defeat confirmed City's status as champions for a third straight season, and the squad were together to celebrate as the full-time whistle blew in Nottingham.

City's official Twitter account also tweeted a picture of the squad with custom-made t-shirts.

A number of City players have reacted to a fifth title in six seasons via their own social media pages.

Club captain Ilkay Gundogan admitted it was 'very special' guiding his side to another league title, thanking all members of the club for their efforts during the season.

City host Chelsea at the Etihad on Sunday in a game that now becomes a coronation, with top spot guaranteed. It will be their final home game before away trips to Brighton and Brentford.

City have two massive finals in June in the FA Cup and Champions League against Manchester United and Inter Milan respectively.
