Kent's Ben Compton strikes unbeaten century in Sevenoaks Vine win in the Kent Cricket League Premier Division while Minster, Sandwich, Bexley and Blackheath are also victorious

Kent opener Ben Compton struck an unbeaten century to help guide Sevenoaks Vine to victory over Bickley Park on Saturday in the Kent League Premier Division.

Skipper Luke Schlemmer had a good day, too.

He impressed with the ball (5-35) before he supported Compton as the home team chased down Bickley Park’s 230 all out in impressive fashion.

Compton (124 not out) and Schlemmer (83 not out) got them over the line in the 41st over.

Joe Parry starred for Minster who beat basement boys Beckenham by 10 runs to move to a point of the summit.

He top-scored with 77 of Minster’s 206-8 from 50 overs, after they won the toss, before he also did some damage with the ball.

Parry ended with figures of 5-32 while opening bowlers Daniel Masters (2-31) and Harry Mawson (2-35) took two scalps apiece to restrict the hosts to 196 all out with two balls of their innings to spare.

Ross Piller was the pick of the batsmen for Beckenham - who were without Nick Rigg and Harri Aravinthan - with 50 off 49 balls before he was dismissed by Mawson.

That result saw Hayes’ lead at the top cut, as they were beaten away to Sandwich.

Half-centuries from Kent all-rounder Alex Blake (65) and Tomas Gallagher (58) helped Hayes reach 220-9 from 50 overs, opening bowler Alex Smith best with the ball for Sandwich with 4-29.

In reply, opener Zack Fagg (55) and stand-in skipper Tom Chapman (73) gave them a really strong platform before Tom Burnap and wicketkeeper Kai Smith got them over the line with 59 not out and 21 not out, respectively.

Bexley beat Tunbridge Wells by 44 runs.

Batting first, opener Aiden Griggs led Bexley to 206-6 from 50 overs while opening bowler Ryan O'Beirne (3-27) was best with the ball for Tunbridge Wells.
