Kenny Miller offers Rangers history lesson as Morelos chalk off sparks memory of Hibs winner SEVEN years ago

Kenny Miller harked back to the 2016 Scottish Cup Final as the debate over Alfredo Morelos' controversial disallowed goal against Celtic continues.

Morelos thought he'd opened the scoring for Rangers at Parkhead but Kevin Clancy pulled it back for an adjudged push - or a "nudge" as Miller calls it on Alistair Johnston. Celtic went on to win 3-2 with Kyogo and James Tavernier striking doubles and Jota providing what proved to be the winner but five days on from the derby, we've far from heard the end of it.

The SFA came to Clancy's defence after Rangers demanded an explanation and the fury surrounding the incident has led to the whistler and his family receiving vile threats that have been reported to Police Scotland. On the football itself though, Miller reckons the decision was 'soft and harsh' - but thinks if that's what classes as a foul, then Hibs should have been penalised back in 2016 for a similar incident in the build-up to David Gray's dramatic winner.

He also alleges Celtic skipper Callum McGregor was lucky to avoid a red card as he told Open Goal: "We're saying 'push', it's maybe a 'nudge'. (by Morelos) By the way, we go back to 2016. There's a 'nudge' on James Tavernier for Stokes' header in the Cup final. That's a nudge, and we never had VAR back then.

"But it's soft and it was harsh. I think Callum McGregor dodged a bullet early on the counter-attack when he brings Cantwell down and doesn't get booked. I think because you've got the armband on and it's early, you get away with it."
