Michael Beale was wrong Rangers appointment as his pathetic in-game management against Celtic proved - Hotline

Scottish football looks set to be painted green and white in the coming weeks as Celtic made it three straight wins over Rangers to stand on the verge of the Treble. And it all means Gers fans on the Hotline are feeling just a little blue.

Michael Beale, Ryan Kent, Alfredo Morelos - there was plenty of flak heading Ibrox way. Let’s start with the Celtic supporters though. Kenny Wilson emailed: “Yet again Rangers can’t beat us when we’re not even at our best. The defence was outstanding, especially Cameron Carter-Vickers who was different class. Another treble is odds-on now - that’s five in seven seasons.” Arrin Geddes, Irvine, said: “Beale and his players have a belief that they are close but they can’t win against this Celtic team because they aren’t close enough. Joe Hart didn’t have much to do against Rangers, they just don’t have it in them.”

Stephen Mulhern, Dumbarton, added: “After supporting Celtic for over 40 years, if there has been a more dominant performance in central defence in a Old Firm match than Carter-Vickers then I’ve not seen it. It will be a travesty if he’s not named player of the year.” Over to Rangers now and there was no holding back the fury. James Thompson, Clydebank, said: “This Rangers team lack quality and I’m just glad that Morelos is going. Kent and Sakala and a few others need to go too. Once again this mediocre team have failed and let down their club, fans and themselves.”

Andrew Adams, Kirkcaldy, said: “I said at the time Rangers had to get the right man in place and Beale was the wrong appointment. Nothing’s changed my mind but in his defence Sakala has to score, no composure. The new board have a big decision to make, they have to get it right this time.”
