Kenny Dalglish smells Rangers 'trouble' if Michael Beale's main man remains pick of the summer signings

Sir Kenny Dalglish has warned Michael Beale that Europa League thumpings won't be accepted by punters - as he spots a reliance on one summer signing.

The Light Blues has been recieving flak from all angles after derby defefeat to Celtic earlier this month, and victory over St Johnstone on Saturday eases the pressure ever so slightly. A win over Real Betis in their European group stage opener this Thursday would win some fans back onto his side but for Scotland legend Dalglish, he senses that the boss can't continue to have Jack Butland as his main man.

He has been an impressive option between the sticks since arriving from Crystal Palace and becoming Rangers' number one, and has had to make key saves in a number of matches.. But Dalglish says him being on of the best in Ibrox class at the minute is not a good reflection on the outfield crop.

The former striker wrote in the Sunday Post: Over at Rangers, there is more pressure on them to win because they are at Ibrox against Real Betis. The Europa League is a strong competition but it's not of the same quality as the Champions League That's why Michael Beale's men will have an expectation on their shoulders to get through in the top two spots in their section.

"They won't be expected to be on the receiving end of some of the heavy Champions League defeats they had last season or in the recent game at PSV. Michael made nine new signings and many of them need to step up and deliver much more. Jack Butland has been a shining success and has made many, many good saves already.
