"Keeping an eye on..." - Transfer insider drops exciting Liverpool claim on 31 G/A "genius"

Liverpool are “keeping an eye” on Jarrod Bowen’s situation at West Ham heading into the summer window, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

The Reds have a long-term interest in the £42m-rated attacker and are set to compete for his services in the upcoming window with the futures of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane still unresolved.

According to The Athletic, Bowen featured on Jurgen Klopp’s shortlist of attacking players he was keen on signing last summer.

And Liverpool have continued to monitor his situation following his exploits for West Ham this season, which included a fine display in their 3-2 victory over the Reds back in November when he chipped in with two assists.

90min believe that Klopp’s charges are still keen on Bowen’s services, with Salah and Mane both out of contract in the summer of 2023 and are yet to decide over their respective futures.

Bowen, described as a ‘genius‘ by ex-Hammer Danny Gabbidon, has been in sensational form this term, helping West Ham reach the Europa League semi-finals and qualify for the Europa Conference League.

But Jones has urged the Londoners to get the winger tied down to fresh terms amid Liverpool’s interest.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “Right now, it will be Declan Rice that gets all the transfer headlines, but Liverpool have been linked with Jarrod Bowen in the last year and they’re keeping an eye on that situation and I think other clubs in the top four or five would like to have him in their squad going forward.

“He’s turning out to be a really big-game player, he turns up in big moments.

“Nothing seems to get the better of him, so I think he would be a good signing for someone, but West Ham need to try and tie him down.”
