Kate Middleton's mum Carole Middleton 'a great support' during Princess' cancer battle

Kate Middleton's mum Carole has been supporting her during her secret fight with cancer, according to insiders. On Friday the Princess of Wales shared the news after her sudden diagnosis earlier this year .

A video clip was filmed in which she talked about her illness. The news came after cruel rumours developed over recent weeks following her major abdominal surgery in January.

Although it was officially announced she wasn't due to return to Royal duties until after Easter, trolls took to social media to spread conspiracy theories over what was happening to her and discussed whether photos of her were authentic. Kate has had a close support network around her helping her through this challenging period.

It's understood mum Carole has been a great help during her recovery, a source told The Times. In early March, people saw Kate for the first time since her operation on January 16, when she was in a car with her mother, reports the Mirror.

A person who saw them said: "It was a lovely sunny day and Kate was being driven by her mum. The Princess was sitting in the passenger seat and wearing dark sunglasses but looked well as the two women were talking with one another."

Members of the public spotted Kate in the car in Berkshire. During the time she had been recuperating at home in Windsor. It marked her first public appearance since Christmas Day and after her abdominal surgery.
