Kate Middleton live updates as Princess of Wales arrives at King's Trooping the Colour celebrations

The Princess of Wales has been spotted arriving at Buckingham Palace as she returns to public life for the first time in three months. She was seen arriving with Prince William and their children ahead of the Trooping the Colour event.

Kate, 42, revealed in March 2024 that she was undergoing treatment for cancer following abdominal surgery. A statement released on Friday evening, which was a 'personal message' said she was 'making good progress' and felt buoyed by the support she had received from members of the public. The princess announced on Friday that she would be joining her three children George, 10, Princess Charlotte, nine and Prince Louis, five, in a state carriage down The Mall before appearing on the balcony at Buckingham Palace.

The ceremony is due to start at 10.30am. with the family appearing in the balcony for a Red Arrow flypast just after 1pm.

Prince William will take part in the military parade on horseback, but his father will be in a carriage as he recovers from his own cancer battle.
