Live updates as police incident closes roads and brings rail services to a stop
Emergency services are dealing with what has been described as a "serious incident" near a Barry railway bridge on Monday morning (July 1).
It has happened at the bottom of the town's Gladstone Road. South Wales Police say the adjoining roads are also currently closed that access that railway bridge, Cardiff Road and Vere Street and the surrounding area.
A statement said: "Please use an alternative route. Thank you for your patience."
Rail services have also been affected. National Rail says services between Cardiff Central and Caephilly / Pontypridd / Barry Island could be disrupted because of a "trespass incident."
