Kate Garraway reveals GMB moment that 'instantly' sparked addiction before words from late husband Derek Draper

Kate Garraway has spoken honestly about her intense vape addiction that was reignited on Good Morning Britain years after she originally quit after it left her "hating herself".

The presenter, 57, initially replaced smoking with e-cigarettes in 2009 after the birth of her son Billy, and in 2019, she quit vaping for good ahead of her stint in I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! which saw her head into the Australian jungle.

But Kate revealed how she became "instantly addicted" to vaping when the topic was covered during an edition of GMB last year. daytime show last year. During an interview with Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley on the ITV news show on Thursday (October 24), Kate revealed the exact moment her vaping addiction was reignited as she held an e-cigarette live on-air.

"The last thing I want to do is any way in sanction [vaping], because I don't now. But my experience was, after Billy was born, I did smoke before and I was craving going back to smoking [but] didn't want to," Kate began, as per the Mirror.

She recalled her experience with vaping, and said she started because a friend had recommended it to her. "I thought it was amazing, because it didn't smell, at that point you could do it anywhere, it must have been like smoking in the 70s, you didn't have to stand outside. Everybody said it was better for you, and I did feel much better. I got the nicotine hit," Kate explained.

She successfully gave it up "completely" before her stint in the jungle, but during an edition of GMB last year, her addiction to vaping sparked up again.
