Kaizer Chiefs confirm six new signings, including Venezuelan midfielder

Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs have strengthened their squad with six new players ahead of the 2023/24 season, the club announced on Monday.

Amakhosi confirmed the arrivals of Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, Spiwe Given Msimango, Mduduzi Mdantsane, Edson Daniel Castillo Garcia, Pule Mmodi and Ranga Piniel Chivaviro.

Botswana international defender Ditlhokwe, who played for SuperSport United, already penned a pre-contract with Chiefs during the January transfer window. His deal is valid until June 2027.

Joining Ditlhokwe in the defensive lineup is Msimango, who arrives from TS Galaxy.

With the ability to play as a center-back and a defensive midfielder, the 26-year-old impressed in the league and earned a call-up to the Bafana Bafana preliminary squad for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

In midfield, Chiefs has welcomed the return of Mdantsane from Cape Town City.

A product of the club's youth development academy, Mdantsane attracted attention with his performances in the Mother City and now returns to Amakhosi at the age of 28, signing a contract that will expire in June 2026.

Amakhosi has secured the services of Mmodi from Lamontville Golden Arrows. The versatile attacker, equally effective on the right or left wing, impressed last season with six goals and three assists for his former club.
