K-drama fans say 'it's going to be good' as Netflix teases Doona! first-look

Netflix has teased a first-look at upcoming K-drama Doona!, starring Bae Suzy and Yang Se-jong.

The new series comes from Lee Jung-hyo, the creator of the hit series Crash Landing On You. It follows freshman Lee Won-jun (Dr Romantic's Yang Se-jong) as a college student who finds himself living with former K-pop idol Lee Doona.

Bae Suzy appears to be an ideal pick for the role as the actress started out as a K-pop star herself, in the group Miss A from 2010 until 2017. Hailed as 'The Nation's First Love' in her home country South Korea, fans are excited to see her star as Doona.

In a short teaser trailer shared by Netflix, viewers see the pair get to know each other as they settle into communal living. Lee Won-jun apologises for 'overstepping the mark,' while Doona proposes that they 'be friends' - despite the undeniable spark between them.

As the two get closer, they share a kiss, and Doona warns: "I'm telling you this just in case, but don't fall for me either." Meanwhile teaser posters for Doona! are punctuated with dialogue from the series, including: “You are the one who shook me up first” and “can’t you say I’m someone you like?”

Netflix also confirmed the release date for the new series, which will land on the streaming service on October 20.

Taking to Twitter, fans were quick to hype up the teaser trailer - while sharing their excitement at seeing Suzy grace their screens once again. @WinterChild1010 said: "Our Doona is serving [crying face emoji] We can't wait!! while @guitaristsuzy said: "Best actress Bae Suzy!"
