Great British Bake Off fans say it was 'uncalled for' as they spot 'cruel' move in show edit

Fans of The Great British Bake Off fans were left 'heartbroken' by an edit in the second episode of the series as one branded it 'uncalled for'. The hit Channel 4 show was back on screens on Tuesday night (October 3) for the second episode of the new series which kicked off with a bunch of new amateur bakers and a new co-host.

The latest episode, which saw the return of hosts Noel Fielding and Alison Hammond as well as judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith, saw the bakers tackle a marshmallow biscuit signature round, a classic custard cream during the technical and an illusion challenge for the showstopper – where they had to make their favourite meal out of biscuits.

During the showstopper challenge, chartered accountant Keith presented his illusion biscuits to the judges, but Paul was not pleased with one element of the bake. Keith tried to make a biscuit look like a tomato, but Paul ended up holding it up into the air to show the rest of the tent to highlight how it didn't look anything like one.

Keith tried to make a joke about the situation but when the judges moved on to checking out competitor Josh's tomato biscuit, as part of his burger and chips illusion display, it was highly praised by Paul who was so impressed that he gave out one of his sought after Hollywood handshakes for it.

But Bake Off viewers couldn't help but notice that the cameras cut to show Keith's reaction - and some were crushed. @hollyp0pz said: "The way they help up Josh’ tomato and the camera panned to Keith was so uncalled for #GBBO." @Blaynos14 commented:
