Jurgen Klopp has revealed what made his dressing room speech to Liverpool 's players following their 1-0 loss to Inter Milan on Tuesday "slightly different."

The Reds suffered their first defeat at Anfield in almost 12 months but still made it through to the quarter-finals of the Champions League, winning 2-1 aggregate.

It meant that while Klopp's men were disappointed with the second-leg result, the Liverpool manager remained in good spirits when he spoke to them after the final whistle.

"We are not good losers. After a game, I have a speech in the dressing room. In this game [Inter], it was slightly different," Klopp admitted.

"I was in a better mood to the players. Reaction is important, we have to show that and I'm pretty sure we will.

"I didn't like parts of the performance, especially defensively. If we don't defend right against Brighton, we will have a problem."

Given their struggles against the Italian champions, facing Graham Potter 's middling Brighton on Saturday will be another test for the Reds, having drawn the reverse fixture 2-2 at Anfield in October.
