Diogo Jota details mood between Man City and Liverpool FC players on international duty

Liverpool striker Diogo Jota has opened up on the kind of interactions he has with Manchester City's players when they meet up for international duty with Portugal.

A gripping two-horse race between the two clubs for the Premier League title is back on, with the Reds just a point behind the current title holders. Jurgen Klopp's side won their game in hand, beating Arsenal 2-0 last Wednesday evening to move within a point of the summit.

The pair are set for a potentially title-swaying clash shortly after the international break at the Etihad Stadium on April 10. The two clubs drew 2-2 at Anfield in a thrilling clash earlier in the season and both will be desperate to avoid defeat in next month's meeting.

Portuguese stars such as Joao Cancelo and Bernardo Silva are likely to play significant roles in that match, but will first join forces with Jota ahead of Portugal's crucial World Cup play-offs. They face Turkey in their semi-final showdown on Thursday evening before, should they win, facing Italy or North Macedonia for a place in the finals in Qatar later this year.

But even though international meet-ups require the likes of Cancelo and Jota to be singing from the same hymn sheet in an attempt to achieve Portugal's respective ambitions, the Liverpool ace has admitted that rivalries at club level are discussed. Nevertheless, he has insisted that international matters are the main focus.
