Journalist says it will be "difficult" for ace to save Tottenham career, 0 starts in 32 months

Jack Clarke is fighting to save his Tottenham career, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

The young attacker signed for Spurs in 2019 but he has made just a handful of appearances since making the £10m move from Leeds under Mauricio Pochettino.

Clarke’s switch to North London is becoming more and more baffling with every passing week.

The departure of Pochettino less than six months after his arrival didn’t helped his cause to prove himself in the first team, but none of the four managers since his sacking have given him a chance.

Clarke is approaching three years as a Tottenham player but has been restricted to just four substitute outings: three in Europe and one in the FA Cup against Marine last January.

As a result, the 21-year-old is currently out on loan for a fourth time, although this is arguably his most productive having featured in all 11 of Sunderland’s League One games since his January move.

But once Clarke returns from his spell with the third-tier giants, he’ll have just 12 months remaining on his contract, meaning he will have a big decision to make this summer.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “It’s going to be difficult for Clarke to get himself into the Tottenham team, so it’s a big summer ahead for him and what he decides he wants to do.”

With Clarke struggling to get minutes on loan at the likes of Leeds, QPR and Stoke in recent years, it highlights exactly how far he is away from making the grade at Spurs.
