Jota back at Celtic LIVE as returning hero prepares for first press conference following emotional transfer
It's been a month of waiting for Celtic fans, but it could all now feel worthwhile as Brendan Rodgers secured a marquee first arrival of the January window.
Jota is back in Glasgow on a five-and-a-half year deal, and Portuguese attacker made himself a firm favourite during his first spell in Glasgow having netted 28 times in 83 appearances - including a sumptuous chip in a derby day trouncing of Rangers at Parkhead.
Despite being linked with a move to some of the top leagues in Europe, he switched to Saudi Arabia in an eye-watering £25m deal back in 2023. However two years on he's back in the Hoops and ready to put frustrating spells in the desert and with French side Rennes behind him.
Jota's arrival has seen Hoops hero Kyogo Furuhashi leave Parkhead, as he moves in the opposite direction to Rennes. And whilst Celtic fans will enjoy hours of debate on the topic of if he's their best striker since Henrik Larsson, the disappointment has been somewhat calmed by Jota's arrival.
A deal to bring another old favourite, Kieran Tierney, also appears to finally be reaching the home straight - but today it is all about Jota, and Record Sport will be there as he speaks to the media for the first time back at Celtic.
