Jose Mourinho explains the difference between winning with Manchester United and Roma

Jose Mourinho has explained the difference between winning with Manchester United and Roma.

The Portuguese coach was visibly emotional on Wednesday night when he led Roma to the Europa Conference League. A Nicolo Zaniolo goal secured a 1-0 win for the Italians against Feyenoord to secure another trophy for the former United, Chelsea and Tottenham head honcho.

Post-match Mourinho spoke about the difference of winning with Roma in comparison to winning with United. He said via Planet Sport: "Winning with Manchester United even though it was a Manchester United side that lacked the quality of proper United sides, winning with Manchester United is almost natural.

"Winning the Champions League with Porto is not normal. Bringing joy to people by winning the Champions League with Inter.

"Inter is naturally a huge club, but I think it was 50 years since they had won the Champions League and brought joy to the fans. Today winning this competition brings joy to the [Roma] people as well."

Mourinho guided United to the Europa League in the 2016/17 season. He also won the League Cup and Community Shield that year.

Since then United have not won a single major trophy. The Reds recently succumbed to their worst ever Premier League season having accumulated only 58 points this campaign.
