John Terry tipped for West Brom manager job after Aston Villa and Chelsea stints
Former Aston Villa assistant head coach John Terry has been tipped by bookmakers to be in the running to succeed Valerien Ismael at West Bromwich Albion.
Former Barnsley manager Ismael left his post at Oakwell at the end of last season to take on the challenge of getting West Brom promoted back to the Premier League following the club's relegation from the top flight.
But after just 29 league games in charge of the Baggies, Ismael has been sacked.
West Brom are currently eight points off an automatic promotion spot and are perilously close to slipping out of the top six altogether, with just goal difference separating them and seventh placed Nottingham Forest as it stands.
Terry has been installed as the fourth favourite to take over at the Hawthorns by bookies Sky Bet after leaving a coaching role at West Midlands rivals Villa in the summer.
The former Chelsea and Villa centre-half is currently working in a coaching consultancy role at Stamford Bridge, having served as one of Dean Smith's assistants at Villa Park for just over two-and-a-half years.
Birmingham City boss Lee Bowyer is also listed, with former Villa and Blues boss Steve Bruce the current favourite.
Here is Sky Bet's next Albion manager market, and the early odds (which are subject to change)...
Steve Bruce 10/11
Tony Mowbray 6/1
Michael Appleton 10/1
John Terry 12/1
Lee Bowyer 14/1
Mick McCarthy 14/1
Alex Neil 16/1
