John Obi Mikel was tricked into posting fake Ruben Neves quote about him

John Obi Mikel was a pretty good servant to Chelsea.

The Nigerian midfielder spent 11 years at the west London club between 2006 and 2017, winning a plethora of trophies along the way.

Mikel won two Premier League titles, three FA Cups, a League Cup, the Champions League and the Europa League at Chelsea.

He certainly wasn’t a benchwarmer during his time with the Blues either. The man who’s currently a free agent played 372 games across all competitions for the club, accruing over 25,000 minutes of on-pitch action.

Back in 2019, Mikel was cruelly tricked into thinking that a fellow professional referred to him as a ‘professor of football’ when speaking to a media outlet.

A fake quote from Wolverhampton Wanderers‘ Ruben Neves went viral on social media and unfortunately for Mikel, he was one of the select few who didn’t realise it wasn’t actually real.

So what did he do? He only went and uploaded it to his official Instagram page with a a caption that read ‘I am honored’…

Someone on Twitter made a fake quote of Ruben Neves talking about John Obi Mikel and he's posted it on his Instagram
