John Fitzsimons and women's 4x100 relay earn top threes at Stockholm Diamond League meeting

John Fitzsimons earned a second place finish in the 800m at the Diamond League meeting in Stockholm.

The Kildare native ran a time of 1:46.80, with Britain's Ben Pattison winning by 0.74 seconds.

Elsewhere at the meeting, Ireland finished third in the women's 4x100m relay. The team consisting of Lauren Roy, Sarah Leahy, Kate Doherty and Stephanie Adeyemi Talabi ran a season's best time of 44.25 seconds as the Swiss and Finnish quartets took first and second respectively.

Sarah Lavin was fourth in the women's 100m hurdles in a time of 13.13 seconds.

Andrew Coscoran and Sarah Healy both finished sixth in their respective 1500m events and the men's 4x100m relay team of Israel Olatunde, Mark Smyth, Colin Doyle and Joseph Ojewumi also finished sixth.
