John Egan's anger sums up dire defending and a Sheffield United legend among moments missed

Sheffield United's 2-1 defeat against Reading saw yet another dramatic finish at Bramall Lane. Not for the first time this season the home side thought they had salvaged a point in added-on time, only to still lose it seconds later.

They suffered a similar defeat earlier in the season at home to Huddersfield in August, when Levi Colwill netted a 94th-minute winner after Billy Sharp thought he had earned his side a point just two minutes earlier.

There was a familiar face in the stands yesterday as Sheffield United welcomed Colin Morris and his son, Lee, to Bramall Lane.

Pitchside announcer Gary Sinclair introduced the pair to the Blades crowd and they were both given a good recent from supporters. Colin became a huge fans favourite during a seven-year spell in the Eighties, with his skill and trickery on the wing making him one of the standout players of that generation.

It was the best period of his career, making 240 league appearances and finding the net 67 times. Wonderkid Lee burst on to the United scene a decade later and although he was only in a red and white shirt for a short time, he made a huge impression before being sold and becoming the fourth most expensive teenager in British football history.

They could have picked a better game to watch and how Paul Heckingbottom would have loved to have either of those in their prime on the pitch yesterday as his side struggled to create.
