Joao Cancelo price tag 'revealed' and other Man City transfer rumours

Barcelona could sign Joao Cancelo from Manchester City for as little as €25million next summer.

That's according to reports in the Spanish media as the 29-year-old continues to settle in at Camp Nou following his loan move to the Catalan giants this summer. Cancelo has played three games for Barcelona since that switch and even scored for them during their La Liga victory over Celta Vigo on Saturday night.

Cancelo moved to the Etihad Stadium from Juventus four years ago, but faces an uncertain future with City after being cast aside by Pep Guardiola last season. He moved to Bayern Munich on loan during the January window as the 46-cap Portugal international then swapped Bavaria for Catalonia before the 2023/2024 season began.

Reports from journalist Fernando Polo, on social media, indicate Cancelo would be able to complete a permanent transfer to Barcelona for €25million next summer. The full-back remains under contract at City until 2027 and there will, almost certainly, be other top clubs in the market for his signature.

Elsewhere, reports from A Bola state City are monitoring promising Sporting Lisbon defender Ousmane Diomande amid proposed interest from two Premier League clubs, Arsenal and West Ham. The 19-year-old has been tipped to move on, once again, during the January transfer window.

Diomande has earned rave reviews for his performances with the Portuguese side while the centre-back has, also, been capped at senior level by the Ivory Coast already. He cost Sporting €7.5million last January.
