‘We will learn’ - Erling Haaland makes Man City vow after Wolves defeat
Erling Haaland has vowed to bounce back after Manchester City were outfought by Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Almost everything the Norwegian touches has turned to gold since his big-money move from Borussia Dortmund last year. A staggering 60 goals in 61 City appearances across all competitions crowns Haaland as the world’s best in many people’s eyes.
But yesterday was arguably his worst performance since making the switch from Germany. The 23-year-old managed just 15 touches and, for most of the contest, appeared anonymous as Wolves ground out a hard-fought win.

Haaland was isolated up front, unable to find space against a five-man backline. Despite having two chances to score, he was not at his ruthless best and ultimately fired a blank for the third time this season.
MEN Sport scored Haaland a five out of 10 for his showing at Molineux - his lowest of the campaign so far. Pep Guardiola will need the superstar striker back to his imperious best for the upcoming double-header against Red Bull Leipzig and Arsenal.
Posting on Instagram, Haaland has promised City fans that improvements will be made while thanking them for their support. He wrote: “Always grateful for your support. We will learn from yesterday and make sure we do better next time.”
City head to Leipzig on Wednesday aiming to claim top spot in Group G following their opening-day win over Red Star Belgrade. Stopping the rot of back-to-back defeats is also essential for Guardiola before he takes his side to the Emirates next Sunday.
The transfer window has been a hectic one and City have been busy, with high-profile signings and sales aplenty.
