Jim White in firm Rangers and Celtic demand as he urges them to foot the full bill for VAR

Broadcaster Jim White reckons Celtic and Rangers should pay up for the whole of the Premiership to bring VAR to Scottish football.

The talkSPORT host insists the time is now for the Glasgow big two to foot the bill amid concerns over rising costs surrounding video technology.

The Daily Mail report clubs are concerned over the price of VAR, with it set to cost teams around £100,000 per season.

It is due to the decision to implement six manned cameras at fixtures rather than four fixed cameras.

Record Sport revealed 43 countries across world football have the technology in place with our teams weighing up a decision with the SFA aiming to help facilitate an introduction.

A vote is scheduled in the coming months but White wants Celtic and Rangers to take the decision out of the hands of the other 10 top flight clubs.

Speaking on his talkSPORT show, he said: "The Old Firm will be paying the same as Ross County.

“There is an argument, why don’t the Old Firm take care of the whole lot? Just to get it implemented if they wanted to get a better league.

“The move was packed particularly by the Old Firm, by Rangers and Celtic, who believe that Scottish football will be left behind by other leagues if it doesn’t keep up with the implementation of technology if they want it that badly, why don’t they just pay for it?”
