Jim Goodwin holds Andy Considine Aberdeen crunch talks as 'bad blood' shrugged off by boss
Aberdeen boss Jim Goodwin insists there is no "bad blood" after clear the air talks with Andy Considine.
The defender – capped three times by Scotland – made his debut in 2004 and has remained at Aberdeen ever since.
Record Sport revealed on Tuesday night Aberdeen had withdrawn an offer to the 35-year-old and the club released a lengthy statement on Wednesday confirming he would move on.
Goodwin has been left fuming that the exit has taken place in view of the public but insists that the relationship with the player remains strong.
The Aberdeen gaffer has revealed he held talks with the 35-year-old making it clear he would have kept the talks inside Pittodrie.
Ahead of the crucial Premiership clash with Ross County, Goodwin said: "There's absolutely no bad blood whatsoever between myself and Andy.
"There was real disappointment on my part that the conversation that we had on Monday managed to drift its way out into the media.
"As a club, we wanted to be the ones to break that news to our supporters because it is quite a big deal at the end of the day, and we wanted Andy to play his part in the statement as well but we were denied that opportunity.
"These are things that we would rather be able to bring to our supporters ourselves.
"The fact that that was denied to us on Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning was very disappointing.
