Jermaine Jenas hits back at Manchester United great Gary Neville after Tottenham jibe

Gary Neville’s comments about ex-Tottenham players needing “perspective” following their reaction to Spurs’ recent 1-1 draw with Everton prompted a backlash from those he was referencing in his tweet on Tuesday morning.

Michael Keane’s late thunderbolt denied Tottenham a win over Everton, meaning they missed out on the chance to go third ahead of Newcastle, albeit overtook Manchester United in fourth on goal difference having played two games more.

Spurs fans left Goodison Park frustrated with the uninspiring display from their side with many more on Twitter voicing their displeasure. Among them were a number of former Tottenham players, including Jermaine Jenas, who wrote: "I can’t watch this team anymore f**."

Meanwhile, clips of Jamie O’Hara storming out of the talkSPORT studio after his rant against Spurs interim boss Cristian Stellini, who said his team played well in the draw, went viral.

"I'm done,” O’Hara said. "Someone save me. I’m done, I am done. Who is this imposter? Has Antonio Conte come back? Has he done a [Jose] Mourinho and has got in the kit room or something? What am I hearing? What was that interview?

"He’s talking about keeping the ball and he put Davinson Sanchez on. A good game? I’m done, mate. I’m done. You can carry on, I’ve had enough of this."

Neville clearly saw the furious online reaction from former Tottenham players and posted a tweet himself on Tuesday morning. He said: "Interesting seeing ex-Spurs players that never got near to Champions League places for years when they played for the club saying they can’t watch this current team now. Spurs are in fourth place currently ahead of Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool. Perspective!"
