Jayden Stockley scouting report as Owls transfer link emerges to Charlton striker

Jayden Stockley has emerged as one of the early transfer targets for Sheffield Wednesday, as Darren Moore seeks another big centre forward to add to his attacking options. Lee Gregory top scored for the Owls in League One this season but his future is up in the air, with his 16 league goals catching the attention of Championship clubs.

Wednesday hope to keep their top scorer and add another striker but Stockley could be an option that would be a good addition to Moore's forward line as it is, as well as potentially replacing his top scorer, should the Owls fail to hold on to the 33-year-old. For those that are unfamiliar with the Charlton striker, Yorkshire Live has the lowdown:

Stockley is a 28-year-old striker, who has played for the Addicks for the last season and a half. He joined the club on a permanent deal last summer, after spending a half-season on loan in London. He began his career at Bournemouth and has represented 12 clubs in his career, which has featured many loan spells.

He is a six-foot-three target man striker. Stockley thrives in physical duels with centre backs and enjoys playing with his back to goal to bring teammates into play. The striker has scored goals regularly when he has been a starting player, as shown by his 13 goals in 33 appearances. Over his career, he has scored 92 goals in 272 appearances.

"He has a great attitude and is a great character around the place. He is a big personality and someone who is desperate to do well for himself and for the team.

"It hurt him being out, missing those games and seeing us struggling. He wanted to be a part of helping out as soon as possible. He contributes hugely on the pitch." - former Charlton manager Johnnie Jackson speaking following Stockley
