Jay Slater's best friend says 'they're fobbing me off' as she makes urgent plea from Tenerife

Missing Jay Slater's best friend today called for British police to join the search in Tenerife for the teenager, saying: "It's not looking good now."

Lucy Mae Law, 18, is believed to be the the last person Jay contacted before his phone died. As reported, Jay had gone to Tenerife to attend the NRG music festival on the island. Lucy – who went to the island with him to attend the festival – said that he had gone to stay with people he had met on holiday after a night out. Follow live updates from the search here.

She said she had received a call from the apprentice bricklayer at around 8.15am on Monday after he missed the bus and was trying to walk back, although he said he was lost, needed a drink of water and had only 1 per cent battery on his phone. His phone then cut off, with his last location showing as the Rural de Teno park – a mountainous area popular with hikers.

"The police here don’t speak English and don’t even have a translator after three days. I feel like they’re fobbing me off. They’re still asking me the same questions as when I first reported Jay missing.”

She added: “The two boys that he was last with have left the country. They need to be questioned by British police.”

Speaking while overlooking a ravine where it is understood Jay’s phone last ‘pinged’, Lucy, who has just finished a college course in Travel and Tourism: “A lady said she last
