Jamie Vardy breaks silence over cheeky message to Tottenham fans as Leicester legend grabs headlines on EPL return

Jamie Vardy aimed a cheeky message towards the Tottenham support as he was subbed off at the King Power Stadium.

The veteran striker - a real club hero at Leicester City - was in from the start for Steve Cooper's side on their English Premier League return as they shared the spoils with Ange Postecoglou's men. The 37-year-old, hardly with a pre-season under his belt, was asked to give it his all and he did just that as he wheeled away as he sparked wild scenes in the home end after his leveller.

As the veteran striker was subbed off late on, he pointed to the badge on his top before aiming a 1 signal to the away end of the ground before holding up a 0 at them. It was a gesture to make the point that he has one English Premier League title success with the Foxes to Spurs' zero. Speaking to Sky Sports after the game about the message to the travelling fans he said: "You take a bit of stick during the game, that is part of football. So as long as they can take it when I am giving it back then that is all that matters."
