Jamie Carragher praises Cristian Romero as Tottenham set to make £67m double transfer decision

Tottenham are set to make the double permanent signings of Cristian Romero and Dejan Kulusevski this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano. The loan pair have impressed since moving to London on loan deals in their debut Premier League campaigns.

The deals are set to cost the club around €80million (£67.4million), adding to Antonio Conte ’s squad going into next season. The Italian has already hinted at Kulusevski’s stay, telling earlier this month: "Yeah, but I think he's on loan but it's like a deal ended. He's a Tottenham player 100% in every aspect. Not officially, but he's 100% a Tottenham player.”

The Sweden international has brought balance alongside Son Heung-Min and Harry Kane up front, scoring three and assisting eight since joining from Juventus on loan in January. At just 22-years-old, there’s plenty of promise for Spurs going forward too.

As for Romero, 24, he has seemingly adjusted well to Premier League football after being awarded Serie A defender of the season for 2020-21. The Argentina international fought back from a long injury in mid-season to make 22 appearances so far and help the push for a top four finish.
