James Tavernier penalty rescues Rangers as Aberdeen denied victory at the death after VAR steps in – 3 talking points

A last-gasp James Tavernier penalty rescued Rangers as they salvaged a point in a pulsating 1-1 Pittodrie draw to preserve Philippe Clement's unbeaten record but they missed the chance to take full advantage of Celtic's slip up 24 hours earlier.

Aberdeen looked set to bounce back from their hammering at Parkhead thanks to Bojan Miovski's early goal but Tavernier levelled in injury time after referee Nick Walsh awarded a spot kick for a shirt pull by Stefan Gartenmann on Connor Goldson, following VAR intervention.
