James Justin says what Leicester City fans want to hear as Harry Maguire credited

James Justin believes his maiden England call-up will take his game to a new level as he gets closer to a potential Three Lions debut.

The Leicester City full-back has been training with his new team-mates at St George’s Park this week after being named in Gareth Southgate’s squad for the first time. He could get his first cap against Hungary on Saturday.

After settling in with the help of Harry Maguire, he believes the quality in the England camp will see him improve his ability and reach previously unattainable heights, which is great news for City manager Brendan Rodgers and the club's fans.

The 24-year-old received his call-up just 11 Premier League starts after a year-long absence and feels he is nearing the pre-injury form that first caught Southgate’s eye. Justin told talkSPORT: “Personally I feel like I’m getting close to that level. I also think now that I’ve got another level I can get to. Just training with these players for the last couple of days, I feel like I’m improving already.

"It’s just the same thing when I was younger, when I was with Luton and came to play with England (youth teams), I felt like it elevated my game even more and this is the same sort of thing.

“All of the lads have been really welcoming. I know Harry Maguire, obviously he’s been at United the past few seasons, but when I first joined Leicester he was one of the ones who did the same thing, so he’s been really great to me.”

While Justin is one of five right-footed full-backs in the squad, he is the most at home at left-back of the quintet, and it is in that position that he is expected to feature for England during their four Nations League games over the next fortnight.
