James Corden had to be confronted for his behaviour by a fellow star and told "be careful"

It was recently revealed James Corden was briefly banned from a New York restaurant due to his treatment of staff.

The news has resulted in an old story also discussing his behaviour towards others resurfacing. On one occasion, his Gavin & Stacey co-star, Rob Brydon had to intervene.

Since the incident, Corden has apologised to the staff of the restaurant and his ban has been revoked. However, previous comments by his fellow BBC star have now resurfaced, Wales Online reports.

The 57-year-old, known for his role as Uncle Bryn in the BBC Sitcom, said: "I’d known him for a while – we met on a big comedy-drama called Cruise of the Gods in about 2002. I was very impressed by him, although he was very young, very green – very provincial is how I would describe him, not unlike myself at that age. He is such a talent, James, good God he really is. So he was on a rollercoaster."

While he did praise Corden, 44, Brydon added: "He was burning the candle at both ends, and becoming ratty and irritable." In response, Brydon took Corden out for lunch to try and set him straight.

In an interview with The Independent in 2019, Brydon recalled how he told Corden to "be careful". He said at the time: "I was sitting there thinking, ‘When am I going to bring this up?’ And I just said, ‘I don’t like hearing people saying this, because that’s not the person I know.

"So you need to be careful.’ And he took it in the spirit that it was intended."

The incident was also recalled by Corden during an episode of Desert Island Discs in 2012. He told host Kirsty Young: "Rob took me to lunch and said, ‘What are you doing going out all the time being
