Jake Paul has been told he should have offered a less complex deal to fight Conor McGregor in the UFC.
The YouTube star made his latest offer to the promotion's kingpin Dana White as he continues to call-out the Irish MMA legend. In exchange he asked for White to agree to proposals regarding fighter pay and healthcare while agreeing to donate his purse to the lowest-paid fighters if he lost.
UFC legend Chael Sonnen believes Paul's offer did not fall on deaf ears, and has praised the YouTube star's growing reputation - but felt he should have simplified the deal. "There was something different about this (offer) because Paul is a massive draw and Conor is a massive draw," Sonnen said on his YouTube channel.
"I wish that Jake would have made the challenge and laid out, I wish he would have stopped right there. Instead he threw a few things on it to sweeten the deal, there was a few different things he put on it so Dana can now not just look at it and say 'yes'.
"Let's set all of this stuff you want to come to the negotiating table with later and just back up. If Jake Paul will come to the UFC to fight Conor McGregor, what weight class? That's all we really need to discuss at that point.
