Jadon Sancho responds to Manchester United transfer claim amid Borussia Dortmund move

Jadon Sancho has responded to claims that his transfer exit from Manchester United to return to Borussia Dortmund is edging closer.

The 23-year-old has endured a tough time since parting ways with the German club to join United in 2021, with just 12 goals to his name across his 82 appearances for the Red Devils. On top of his poor form on the pitch, Sancho was also embroiled in a public fallout with Erik ten Hag after the United boss criticised his training levels prior to a clash against Arsenal back in September.

"Jadon, on his performances in training we did not select him," Ten Hag said after the 3-1 defeat at the Emirates Stadium. "You have to reach a level every day at Manchester United and we can make choices in the front line. So for this game he was not selected."

Sancho issued the following response on his personal social media accounts: "I will not allow people saying things that is completely untrue, I have conducted myself in training very well this week. I believe there are other reasons for this matter that I won't go into, I've been a scapegoat for a long time which isn't fair!

"All I want to do is play football with a smile on my face and contribute to my team. I respect all decisions that are made by the coaching staff, I play with fantastic players and grateful to do so which I know every week is a challenge. I will continue to fight for this badge no matter what."
