Jacob Miller's tribute to Wakefield Trinity as he closes in on future announcement

Jacob Miller admits Wakefield Trinity will have always hold a special place in his heart as he prepares to make an announcement on his future. The Australian playmaker is widely expected to join West Yorkshire rivals Castleford Tigers at the end of this season but is remaining tight-lipped.

A move to Wheldon Road could see him form a new half-back with Warrington Wolves star Gareth Widdop, who is set to link up with Lee Radford’s squad at the end of the current campaign. Sydney-born Miller joined Trinity ahead of the 2015 season following a stint at Hull FC, where he played under Radford.

“Obviously I’m off contract and there is going to be a few things getting thrown around,” the 29-year-old told Rugby League Live. “I’m open to anything and will just see how it all plays out. I’ve been lucky to have been here a long time and to captain the club.

“It’s a fantastic place to play – I’ve had a couple of kids born in Wakefield – so regardless of what happens it’s always going to be a special place to me.”

Miller’s immediate focus is on helping Willie Poching’s side to bounce back from last Sunday’s abject surrender at Salford Red Devils. Wakefield were stuffed 74-10 and now host Challenge Cup winners Wigan Warriors – another club Miller has been linked with – on Sunday.
