Jack Grealish can lead Man City transformation but Pep Guardiola could be made to suffer

As Premier League footballers jet off in search of some sun during the winter break, you can always depend on social media to keep us up to date with their extracurricular activities.

Whether it be pre-planned photos of them enjoying the sunset or candid videos taken by passers-by, we probably see more of our heroes during the winter break than we do when the league actually resumes.

Plenty of the Manchester City squad have taken the chance to broaden their horizons during the two-week sabbatical from league action. Ilkay Gundogan is over in Los Angeles, Ruben Dias is out in Dubai and Jack Grealish is, well, we’re not actually sure he knows where he is.

The City man has joined teammate Dias in Dubai, though you wouldn’t know he was out in the middle of the desert given the sand-based anecdote he recently told.

“The UAE [Pavilion] with all the sand, as I’ve walked in, I didn’t realise that the [sand] was real because it was so flat,” Grealish said (via City Xtra). “Then the guy says to come, ‘this is real, you know. You can pick it up’.

“So, I picked it up. The whole place is absolutely surreal and somewhere where I’d advise to come.”

Being impressed by sand in Dubai is a bit like being invited to Sam Allardyce’s house for a chicken dinner and being surprised he makes perfect gravy – of course it’s good, that’s what they do.

Anyway, Grealish’s quotes got us thinking, if all goes pear-shaped for him in football (which it obviously won’t given how brilliant he is) a career as a travel agent or a travel blogger surely awaits. But what career path could some of our other City heroes take?
