Jaap Stam questions whether three Manchester United attackers are 'good enough' for Premier League

Jaap Stam has questioned whether Manchester United trio Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho and Antony are good enough to play in the Premier League.

The attacking trio have all struggled at different points this season, registering just five goals and four assists between them in all competitions. Antony in particular has had a tough few months and contributed nothing in terms of attacking threat.

Their form has been part of a wider problem with Erik ten Hag still unable to get his side firing in front of goal. United's 18 Premier League goals this season is the sixth-lowest in the division and only one more than the likes of Crystal Palace and Luton Town.

“Marcus Rashford is struggling in finding his feet, even in taking on players,” Stam told BBC Radio 5Live. “Garnacho is one of the few who is brave enough to go and take on players but if he goes past his defender, his head is down so he doesn't know where the striker is.

“That's the thing for a young player like him that he needs to learn, to know the position. Maybe it's even communication before, when he goes past his defender on the outside he maybe needs to pull it back to the penalty spot or near post.

“With Antony, even in Holland he wasn't the best player but then the league is of a much lower level and he can make a difference. By bringing players in you need to know the quality of the player, his personality and if he can do the job in the Premier League but you can see already last season he struggled and he's doing the same thing.
