Ivan Toney claims his family were victims of racist abuse during Brentford win at Everton

Ivan Toney and Rico Henry claim their families were racially abused during Brentford’s 3-2 comeback win at Goodison Park on Sunday.

Toney made the claim on Twitter after the game and has vowed to do all he can to make sure the man who targeted his family is punished. The Brentford striker tweeted: "And for the man that racially abused my family, I’ll do everything I can to get you the punishment you deserve."

Rico Henry, who netted Brentford’s winner, was also disgusted and said on Twitter: "I never usually speak out on things that don’t physically harm me or my family, but to see my mom upset after being racially abused by a few Everton fans brought fire to my stomach!"

Everton have responded to Toney and Henry’s claims on Twitter and promised to help any police investigation and carry out their own probe.

They tweeted: "Ivan Toney - there is no place in football - or society - for racism. We are assisting Merseyside Police to ensure the individual is identified and dealt with appropriately."

Everton fans also set off fireworks at 3.30am on Sunday outside the Brentford team hotel in Liverpool city centre to wake them up.

Brentford overcame this to win and boss Thomas Frank claims their display proves they are not on the beach. They could have a big say in the survival fight and they face Leeds on the final day and Frank insists they are giving their all in every game.

"To go behind, come back, go behind and come back again shows a team fighting and giving everything," said the Brentford boss. "It was an incredible performance that says a lot about the character of these players.

"The so-called experts say we have gone on holiday, that we have nothing to fight for. But we want to win every game we play for the
