Darren Moore has already revealed his transfer stance on Sheffield Wednesday ace Josh Windass

It would take a considerable bid for Sheffield Wednesday to even consider selling Josh Windass in the summer transfer window. Argentine club Atlético Talleres are big admirers of Windass and lodged a six-figure offer for the player this week.

But the bid was flatly rejected by the Owls and it remains unclear whether Talleres will return with an increased offer. Windass signed a Wednesday extension back in August last year, tying him to the club until next year.

As exclusively revealed by Yorkshire Live, the Owls do have a one-year option in their favour as part of Windass' deal. It effectively means Wednesday have the former Glasgow Rangers and Wigan Athletic man under contract until the summer of 2024.

Windass endured an injury-hit campaign last term. He started just three League One matches and made six appearances from off the bench.

It left Wednesday manager Darren Moore unable to call upon one of their most potent attacking weapons for most of the season. Speaking to local journalists back in late March after Windass had suffered another injury setback, Moore said: "It has been something we have had to work without since day one.

"When [Windass] has come back in his brief cameo of games, we have seen the quality that he has got and the impact he has had on the team. He is certainly a player that gives us another attacking option when he is fit.

"He has got a wonderful eye for goal and gives us a different attacking option that we have not had for large parts of the season."

Moore is a big fan of Windass and has previously spoken about his versatility. Windass has demonstrated on numerous occasions during his Owls career
