ITV's Lorraine Kelly calls former MP guest a 'twit' after interview leaves viewers uncomfortable

Lorraine Kelly ended up calling one of her guests a 'twit' after getting viewers talking with her latest interview. The presenter was joined in the studio by former MP Neil Parish, who resigned from his position after being caught watching pornography in the House of Commons.

Mr Parish, who is a farmer by trade, was forced out after admitting to watching X-rated videos, first saying he accidentally viewed one when browsing for tractors, before later doing so deliberately in the Commons chamber. The 65-year-old was suspended from the Tory whip in April before the MP for 12 years resigned the following month.

Lorraine, 62, introduced her guest before quickly going in with her first questioning, asking Mr Parish: "What were you thinking?" to which he said the incident was a "moment of madness" and said it was because he was "bored".

When asked why he didn’t admit to watching porn at work straight away, Mr Parish replied: "I would freely admit that I was trying to pretend it hadn’t happened. But also, I was hoping I’d be able to sort it out, whether rightly or wrongly apologise. It would have never happened again, as you can imagine.

"So I’m not justifying it again and I was right to resign." He later thanked his wife for her support and commented that she "knows what [he's] like".

He said: "In the end, talking to my wife who’s been hugely supportive of me over the years, she knows I’m no angel. In fact, she chases me around the kitchen with scissors saying 'snipper snap'. And we all know what bit of my anatomy she's talking about."
