ITV Masked Singer fans brand Toad a 'sore loser' as star storms off stage before unmasking

Fans of ITV's The Masked Singer have branded the latest star to be unmasked a 'sore loser' after they appeared to storm off stage when hearing that they had been voted off the show.

The singing competition returned to screens at the start of January with another batch of masked celebrities trying to keep their identities a secret underneath elaborate costumes.

In Saturday night's show, after singing a rendition of Sunny by Boney M, Toad in the Hole ended up in the bottom two following the audience vote. The masked star then fought for a place in the next stage of the competition by singing It Must Have Been Love by Roxette.

But sadly for Toad, it marked the end of their journey as the judging panel chose to put Bear through instead, with Jonathan Ross insisting that the majority of the panel were pretty certain they knew who the singer was and decided it was time to find out if they were right.

Upon hearing the news, Toad immediately turned around and walked off stage leaving host Joel Dommett, the judges and the audience in shock. Joel shrugged to the audience as he listened into his earpiece to find out what was happening and eventually announced that the star had decided to return to the stage to be unmasked.

And it turned out the judges had guessed correctly as Toad in the Hole was revealed to be American soul singer Macy Gray. But viewers at home noticed that Macy looked less than impressed at being voted off, picking up on her downbeat expressions and short one-word responses to the judge's comments and questions.

It led many fans to brand Macy a 'sore loser' as they joked that the singer was 'raging' about having to leave the competition so soon. One posted on X, formerly Twitter: "Macy Gray having a tantrum
