ITV I'm A Celebrity's Tony Bellew tells of family heartbreak which will see him rush home from jungle

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here's newest arrival Tony Bellew has shared his personal family heartbreak which will see him rush home from his stint in the jungle. The retired professional boxer will join the ITV reality show alongside jockey Frankie Dettori as this year's latecomers.

Their entrances were teased at the end of Wednesday night's episode (November 22) when the campmates were informed they'd all be taking part in the next Bushtucker Trial. Tony and Frankie will join their fellow celebrities as camp coaches, leading the group into battle in the “Scarena”.

Co-host Ant McPartlin said: "There are more surprises on the way because at the end of the trial the celebrities will be split into two teams of five." Dec Donnelly added: “Over the next couple of days those teams will be going head to head in trials and challenges and those trials will take place in a special area known as the Scarena." While Ant said each of the teams will have their own coach, “a titan from the world of sport."

But while in the camp, Tony will be dealing with his own personal grief as his "wonderful" nan Rose died last week just 24 hours after he signed his I'm A Celebrity contract.

The 40-year-old has paid tribute to "second mum" Rose, who was 97 and looking forward to watching him compete on the show. He also shared how he only committed to flying out to Australia once he confirmed he could be home in time for her funeral.

He explained: "I signed the day before she passed away, so there was no going back then. If I sign something, I honour my agreement.
