ITV Good Morning Britain's Ed Balls 'has a bone to pick' with Girls Aloud amid reunion rumours

Ed Balls didn't seem as pleased about the Girls Aloud reunion rumours as everyone else when he returned to Good Morning Britain. The former Labour MP was back hosting the show on Wednesday (November 8) alongside Susanna Reid when the news was shared.

It has been reported that Cheryl Cole, Kimberley Walsh, Nicola Roberts and Nadine Coyle met up in London recently to make a new music video, two years after bandmate Sarah Harding died at the age of 39 from cancer.

News of the recording of a new music video, which has has been described as "one of the best kept secrets in pop", made the top headlines on GMB but things took an awkward turn when Susanna and Ed were discussing rumours of the reunion of the band following their shared grief over Sarah.

"Ed Balls has a bone to pick one of the bandmates don’t you,” Susanna said, calling out her co-star before he was quick to reply and said: “I do, I do."

Ed explained: "I was on Sport Relief Bake Off and Kimberly Walsh pipped me to the post and won it despite my brilliant ski jump cake." He added: "Because she did a cake of Cheryl Cole on Kilimanjaro catching malaria for Comic Relief and pulled at every heartstring, what can I say the judges were weak."

As well as a new music video, Girls Aloud are also said to have plans for more new music - and even a tour. An insider told The Sun: "It’s going to be huge — and they’re all very excited to be back working together, even if there is a bittersweet element to it."

The group were formed back in 2002 after they all won their positions in Girls Aloud
