Leigh Francis says Holly Willoughby 'is not in a good place' in heartbreaking update after ITV This Morning exit

Holly Willoughby's former ITV co-star and good friend Leigh Francis has said she 'isn't in a good place' since her exit from This Morning. Holly, 42, who presented the ITV morning programme for 14 years alongside Phillip Schofield has kept a low profile ever since announcing her departure from the show in October.

The TV presenter took to Instagram on October 10 with a statement which read: “I have let ITV know today that after 14 years, I will not be returning to This Morning. It’s been an honour to just be part of its story and I know this story has many chapters left to go. Sadly, however, I now feel I have to make this decision for me and my family. I will miss you all so much.”

Holly said that although it was a 'difficult goodbye', she was making the decision 'for her and her family'. Keith Lemon star Leigh Francis, who used to star opposite Holly on ITV's Celebrity Juice, has now given a new update how his friend is doing.

Sharing the heartbreaking news on his friend's wellbeing, Leigh told the Mirror's Sunday People: "I don't think she's in a good place. She's having a tough time." After being asked further about what the pair discuss, the comedian said: "I just text her? I don't ask how she is, but I send her some messages to cheer her up.

"I just go, 'Hope you're OK', and tell her about things I've bought. Like, 'I've just wasted my money on some Spider-Man Crocs, Holly? do you like them?'". The former Bo' Selecta! star also mentioned that he "doesn't know" if Holly will return to host Dancing on Ice in January.
