ITV Emmerdale fans say 'I'll be raging' as they spot body bag identity 'clue'

Emmerdale kicked the year off with five flashforward scenes to tease fans with what's happening in 2025, and some viewers are convinced they know which character is in the body bag.

The five flashforward scenes showcased snippets of what's to come. The first saw Mackenzie Boyd running through the woods on his own, it then flashed to the second scene where Caleb Miligan was lay on a hospital bed with the heart rate monitor flatlining.

Cain Dingle was the star of the third scene standing by an unknown grave in tears, closely followed by a shot of someone kicking a body bag into the water. Perhaps one of the more harrowing scenes, however, was the final flashforward of a villager trapped under the ice.

While the scenes are yet to be played out in real time, fans of the ITV soap think they've worked out who could be in the body bag. Although the scene itself shows a nondescript body shape covered in a sheet, viewers have become amateur sleuths and taken to social media to share their theories.

One fan on X (formerly known as Twitter), @mikepriestley13 theorised: "Hopefully it’s Anthony in the body bag". In a Reddit thread, u/Middle-Armadillo6357 added: "I think it is Anthony. I think that Ruby finds out Caleb is Stephanie’s father and with coaxing from Chas she finally tells Caleb about the abuse she experienced during childhood."

They continued: "Caleb looked a little perturbed during the last episode when Anthony manipulated Ruby into cooking dinner and I think after that he finally starts to see how uncomfortable she is around him. I could see Caleb lashing out and hitting Anthony and Anthony hitting his head or something that causes his death so Caleb gets rid of the body."
