ITV Dancing on Ice fans say 'of course' as they make same complaint minutes into final

Dancing on Ice fans were left making the same complaint following the first skate of the final. The ITV skating competition drew to a close on Sunday night (March 10) but not before the final four battled it out for the trophy.

The spectacular finale kicked off with an energetic group performance by the professional skaters to Heroes (We Could Be) by Alesso. The finalists, Made In Chelsea star Miles Nazaire, broadcaster Adele Roberts and former Coronation Street actor Ryan Thomas, were then introduced to the rink by presenters Holly Willoughby and Stephen Mulhern.

Holly, 43, then said: "Welcome to the greatest show on ice – it’s the grand final." She then said everyone is "completely gutted" that Greg Rutherford had to pull out of the final hours before, after suffering a "significant injury" during rehearsals.

The Olympic long jumper, 37, was due to compete in the final on Sunday with his dancing partner Vanessa James, but announced earlier in the day that he was “devastated” to have to withdraw.

At the start of the final, Holly said: "You may have noticed that Greg and Vanessa weren’t part of our opening and unfortunately Greg injured himself in rehearsals earlier today. We’re all completely gutted and sadly he cannot continue in the competition."

After saying they will be discussing things more, later in the show, fellow host Stephen, 46, said he was "so sorry" for Rutherford and sent him well wishes.
