'100 per cent' - Jurgen Klopp slams Liverpool FC penalty decision vs Man City

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was adamant his side should have been awarded a last-gasp penalty in Sunday's 1-1 draw with Manchester City at Anfield.

After getting themselves back on level terms via an Alexis Mac Allister penalty, Liverpool dominated for long periods of the second half, giving City's players and boss Pep Guardiola plenty to think about. City had led 1-0 at half-time after John Stones finished off a clever corner routine.

Jeremy Doku appeared to catch Mac Allister in the chest, resulting in VAR Stuart Atwell taking a long look at the decision after on-field referee Michael Oliver waved away the home side's protests.

However, Atwell stuck with Oliver's on-field call, meaning the contest ended level. Klopp was animated by the decision, slamming it after the game.

"It was 100 per cent a penalty," Klopp told BBC Sport. "They will find an explanation. It was 100 per cent a foul in all areas of the pitch and probably a yellow card.

"All the people with iPads around me were 'wow, clear'. Maybe they can hide behind the phrase it
