According to journalist Dean Jones, it ‘might even’ be Mohamed Salah who departs Liverpool in the summer as speculation over his future mounts.
The Egypt international has entered the final 18 months of his current contract at Anfield and negotiations over a new deal are yet to reach a satisfactory conclusion.
With fellow forwards Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino also set to become free agents in the summer of 2023, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is expected to break up the famous trio ahead of next season.
According to Ian McGarry of the Transfer Window Podcast (via TEAMtalk), Klopp is prepared to cash in on one of the aforementioned trio for a variety of reasons.
McGarry claims that the Reds are open to offloading either Mane or Firmino as their productivity levels have dropped off in recent years, and the proceeds of their sales will help them afford Salah’s wage demands.
It’s also believed that Klopp is keen to recruit younger players as he looks to rebuild his side, with winter addition Luis Diaz already evidence of that.
Due to Salah’s continued clinical nature in front of goal, he was widely expected to put pen to paper and extend his stay at Liverpool, but that prospect has been thrown into doubt in recent weeks.

The 29-year-old stated that he would ‘love’ to remain in Merseyside until the end of his career before claiming that his future ‘depends on what the club wants’.
Salah then said that he is not asking for ‘crazy stuff’ in the talks over a fresh contract andreiterated whether he stays or goes remains in the hands of the club.
With an agreement still appearing to be some way off in the negotiations to tie Salah down, Jones believes
